High-Definition 3D Laser Scanning

Capturing every detail with millimetre precision. We coordinate the transformation of complex physical environments into high-density Digital Twins and BIM-ready models through our vetted reality capture network.

REALITY CAPTURE WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Manual measurement is a thing of the past, but owning high-end scanning gear is a costly overhead. At PQS Tech, we bridge the gap between complex physical structures and your digital workspace by sourcing the best scanning specialists for your specific site. We ensure you get a "point cloud" that represents your site with absolute fidelity-without the capital investment or logistical headache.

ELIMINATE SITE REVISITS, REDUCE DESIGN RISK, AND CAPTURE TOTAL DETAIL.

OUR CORE SCANNING CAPABILITIES

Scan-to-BIM

Procure high-accuracy data collection specifically formatted for Revit and 3D modelling workflows via our specialist partners.

Heritage Documentation

Access non-contact recording of delicate or historic structures with sub-millimetre detail through our conservation-approved network.

Deformation Analysis

We coordinate monitoring regimes to track structural movement, floor flatness, and verticality with heat-map reporting.

Virtual Tours

Source high-resolution panoramic imagery overlaying the 3D data for immersive site walk-throughs.

Volumetric Analysis

Managed precision measurement of complex stockpiles, excavations, and voids for accurate quantity auditing.

Why PQS Tech?

Tech-First Approach

We ensure our network only uses the latest survey-grade scanners (LiDAR) to ensure rapid data acquisition. They'll capture "everything the eye can see," providing a complete digital record of your project.

Commercial Speed

Speed is key. By tapping into a vast network of providers, we can mobilise teams faster than a single-source firm, allowing your design team to start work days earlier.

Seamless Data

Regardless of which partner scans the site, PQS Tech ensures the deliverable is cleaned, registered, and formatted perfectly into .RCP, .RVT, .DWG, IFC, or other formats, for seamless use in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

Peace of Mind

Our network of scanning professionals means you can survey dangerous or inaccessible areas from a distance, keeping our team safe and your site insurance-compliant.

Step 1: SCOPE OF WORKS

Consultation

We establish the "Level of Detail" (LOD) required for your project to ensure the data is fit for purpose.

Step 2: Mobilisation

Network Mobilisation

We select the optimal partner based on location and specialism, establishing a rigorous survey control network plan to ensure the scan data registers perfectly to the real world.

Step 3: Data Capture

Partner Capture

A verified technician from our network captures the site using multiple scan positions to eliminate "shadows" and ensure 360° coverage.

Step 4: Final Dataset

Centralised Processing

We stitch the scans together and "clean" the data, delivering a unified, geo-referenced point cloud, and then process to deliver the requested formats.

Frequently asked questions

Why does PQS Tech use a partner network?

To ensure availability and specialised expertise. Laser scanning requires expensive, rapidly evolving hardware. By utilising our trusted customer base, we ensure you always have access to the latest equipment without us passing on the cost of depreciating assets.

What is a point cloud?

A point cloud is a set of millions of data points in a 3D coordinate system. It provides an exact digital replica of your site that can be measured, sliced, and modelled.

CAN YOU SCAN IN THE DARK?

Yes. Because laser scanning uses active LiDAR technology (light pulses), we can capture highly accurate data in total darkness or low-light environments.

Can you extract 2D drawings from a 3D scan?

Absolutely. While the scan captures 3D data, we can "slice" the point cloud at any height or angle to produce traditional 2D floor plans, sections, and elevations. This ensures that your 2D drawings are perfectly representative of the actual 3D environment.

How large are the file sizes?

3D data is dense; a single project can range from a few gigabytes to several hundred. To make this manageable, we provide optimised files such as .E57 or .RCP and can host data on cloud-based viewers so you can measure and inspect the site without needing high-end hardware.
