Atlas® L-Band Correction Subscriptions

Satellite-Delivered Precision for the Juniper Geode

Perfect for remote surveying, environmental mapping, and off-grid utility locating

When your work takes you off the grid, standard RTK networks relying on a 4G mobile signal simply will not work. Atlas® is an industry-leading, global L-Band correction service that beams highly accurate positioning data directly to your Juniper Geode receiver via satellite. With no need for an internet connection, a mobile phone signal, or a local base station, Atlas ensures you can achieve reliable sub-metre to decimetre accuracy in the most remote and challenging environments.

Key Features

No Internet Required

Receive corrections directly from space, completely bypassing the need for mobile data or Wi-Fi.

Three Accuracy Tiers

Scale your precision based on project needs; choose from 50cm, 30cm, or down to 8cm accuracy.

Global Coverage

Uninterrupted service covering virtually all landmasses from 75° North to 75° South.

Native Geode Integration

Activates seamlessly on multi-frequency Juniper Geode GNS3M and GNS3H models.

Features

Standard RTK corrections rely on mobile internet (NTRIP) to talk to ground-based stations. Atlas uses Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technology instead. It gathers data from a global network of reference stations, computes corrections for GNSS errors, and broadcasts them directly back down to your Geode via geostationary L-Band satellites. This means as long as you have a clear view of the sky, you have precision accuracy.

Do not pay for more accuracy than you need. Atlas is purchased as a timed subscription licensed directly to your receiver. You can choose from three distinct service levels:

  • Atlas Basic: Delivers ~50cm accuracy. Ideal for basic GIS mapping and rough boundaries.
  • Atlas H30: Delivers ~30cm accuracy. Perfect for environmental mapping and rural asset logging.
  • Atlas H10: Delivers ~8cm accuracy. The highest level of L-Band precision, suitable for demanding remote utility and infrastructure mapping.

Atlas features advanced "Tracer" technology. If your Geode temporarily loses the correction signal due to a brief obstruction, the system intelligently maintains your position quality, allowing you to keep working smoothly until the signal is fully reacquired.

Compatibility

  • Supported Devices: Juniper Geode GNS3M (Multi-frequency) and GNS3H models. (Note: Atlas is not supported on single-frequency GNS3S models).
  • Constellations Corrected: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou.

Expected Convergence Times

(Because Atlas is a satellite-based PPP service, the receiver requires a brief stationary period to "converge" and calculate its highest accuracy when first turned on).

  • Atlas Basic (50cm): Typically under 5 minutes.
  • Atlas H30 (30cm): Typically 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Atlas H10 (8cm): Typically 30 minutes.

Subscription Terms

  • Subscriptions can be purchased in various durations (e.g., 1-month, 1-year) to align precisely with your project timeline and budget.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an Atlas subscription if I already use an RTK network?

If you exclusively work in urban areas with strong 4G mobile signals, standard NTRIP RTK networks are usually faster and provide 1-2cm accuracy. Atlas is designed specifically for professionals working in rural, remote, or "dead zone" areas where mobile data drops out, but decimetre precision is still required.

Can I upgrade my subscription mid-project?

Yes. If you find your project requires tighter tolerances, you can purchase a higher tier (like moving from Basic to H10), and the new code will activate the higher accuracy level on your device.

Does Atlas work under heavy tree canopy?

Like all satellite-based corrections, Atlas requires a line-of-sight to the satellites. While multi-frequency Geodes are excellent at tracking through light canopy, heavy and dense tree cover will eventually block the L-band signal.
